On Monday, July 8, Israeli Forces bombarded the Gaza City along with heavy tanks deployed at the heart of the city at all ends. This has been called to be one of the heaviest attacks made by the forces on the Palestinian territory since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023. According to reports from the Gaza Civil Emergency Service, dozens of people have been killed as a result of the horrendous attack, and emergency teams have not been able to reach them all as offensives are ongoing from the east extreme of the city to the West. It has now been nine months since the war in Gaza began.

Deadly Bombardments Throughout The Night In Gaza

In the tenth month of its war with Israel, the Gaza city witnessed bombardments throughout the night and also early morning of Monday. A large number of multi-floor buildings have been destroyed in the process. A few residents reported that one Israeli tank thrust pushed people near the Mediterranean. Residents have expressed their helplessness in such times. Tank shells and missiles from the planes can be seen falling on the roads and even buildings and houses, along with people running in all directions to save themselves. The Israeli military confirmed in a statement that it appointed 30 fighters in an operation against the militant infrastructure inside the Gaza Strip. Many residents have been sleeping on the roads, with many looking for safer shelters.

Hamas Accepts The US Ceasefire Proposal, Netanyahu Holds Conditions

This recent violent offensive from Israel has come after the United States, Egypt, and Qatar have brought up their efforts to mediate a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the militant group Hamas. Gaza residents have been fueled with hopes of a pause in the attacks by the Israeli forces after the militant group Hamas accepted the ceasefire proposal by the US. Hamas has put forward the demand that Israel must commit to a permanent ceasefire, only then would they sign the agreement. So far, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has put conditions that the deal must not keep Israel from resuming its fight with Gaza until its goals and objectives are met. The goals include dismantling Hamas’ military and governing capabilities, as well as returning the 120 Israeli hostages. Furthermore, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich suggested on Monday that it be a huge mistake now to stop the Israeli offensives.
