Out of 80 countries participating in the Paris Olympics 2024, India has been ranked at number 64 with just 5 medals in their hand. India has sent 117 athletes to the Paris Olympics but most of them are either failing, getting disqualified or have been a victim of unjust scoring system. Indian Hockey Team Wins A Medal
Indian Hockey Team on 8th August won a bronze medal against Spain’s hockey team. Indian won the match with 2-1 score. Indian hockey team had also won a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020. Amit Rohidas, a defender in Indian Hockey Team was given red card in the previous game. His return to the team boosted the confidence of the players. Harmanpreet Singh fired a sensational brace especially in the third quarter. Indian Hockey Team’s Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, better known as “The Wall” announced that Paris Olympics 2024 was his last international match. He bid farewell to Indian hockey with a bronze medal. Odisha Government has announced that they are extending Indian Hockey Team’s sponsorship till 2036.

India had high expectations with Neeraj Chopra and his ability to bring Gold Medal home. Though he failed to secure gold medal, he ensured to bring silver medal home. Neeraj Chopra is just 26 years old and has brought fame and success to his name is a short time. His hard-working ability has made the Indians his fans. Reportedly, 4.1 crore people watch the Javelin Throw match. Arshad Nadeem, a Pakistani athlete won the gold medal for Javelin throw. Neeraj is unhappy with silver medal and has vowed to work harder for gold. Neeraj said, “I gave my best, but is was Arshad’s day.” The country of Pakistan had only sent 7 athletes to Paris Olympics 2024. Out of these 7, one athlete- Arshad has won the gold medal for his country.
