Former Bigg Boss season 17 contestant Anurag Dobhal recently made some shocking allegations against the show’s producers in a tell-all YouTube video, claiming betrayal and mistreatment behind the scenes.
Anurag confessed that he struggled with suicidal thoughts and depression after being evicted from the Bigg Boss house. He says he was left isolated in a hotel room with no way to contact his family for two days, which took a major toll on his mental health.
Details of Mistreatment
According to Anurag, the Bigg Boss creators inaccurately portrayed his journey on the show and conspired to kick him off. He tearfully revealed spending hours crying in the bathroom as he felt pushed into a corner without support from housemates or host Salman Khan.
Anurag says his attempts to express himself backfired and his reputation along with that of his “Bro Sena” was tarnished. Disturbingly, his family was allegedly barred from visiting him on the show when other contestants were allowed visits.
Even when his brother asked to see him, Bigg Boss denied the request. Anurag believes he was lied to and betrayed by the very people running Bigg Boss season 17.
Other Troubling Experiences
Anurag also opened up about a “walk of shame” moment that left him publicly humiliated in a way he had never experienced before. He confessed to entering a depressive state due to isolation and perceived mistreatment in the Bigg Boss house.
So while audiences only see the drama on camera, ex-contestant Anurag Dobhal’s revelations provide a glimpse of the often troubling experiences behind the scenes. His story sheds light on the extreme mental health challenges reality TV contestants can face.
It makes us question the duty of care practices in place for vulnerable participants on shows like Bigg Boss season 17. More transparency and support may be needed behind those confession room doors.
