BJP MLA from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, Pannalal Shakya, who is well known for his controversial statements addressed the students at the inauguration of the ‘PM College of Excellence’ along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. A function was held in Indore on Sunday, July 14, where Amit Shah e-inaugurated a similar PM College of Excellences in 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh, with separate events for each district held on Monday. This initiative was announced by the Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Shakya Urges Students To Open Motorcycle Repair Shop
At the event on Monday upon the inauguration of the PM College of Excellence in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, Pannalal Shakya said that everyone should keep in mind that nothing is going to be achieved through college degrees, and it is better to open a motorcycle puncture repair shop at least to earn a modest livelihood. Moreover, while talking about the mega sapling plantation drive in Indore on Sunday, where a record-breaking 11 lakh plant-saplings were planted in a span of 24 hours, Pannalal Shakya said that people are interested in planting more trees and are not interested in watering them.

He further said that an individual must first save the ‘panchtatva’ of the human body, which are, the earth, air, water, solar energy, and the sky. He emphasized on the growing pollution saying that the environment is degrading but nobody is working in that direction. He said that how many more saplings will one plant without ensuring their growth. He also mentioned how people consume anything today without ensuring their side effects.
Shakya’s Remarks On Virat Kohli
Pannalal Shakya first caught the headlines in 2017 when he said that cricketer Virat Kohli was not patriotic because he married his wife and actor Anushka Sharma in Italy. He said that Ram, Krishna, and Yudhistir got married in India, Virat Kohli is abundant with fame and money but chose not to marry within India and it is not patriotic.
Shakya’s Offensive Remarks On Women
The BJP MLA also received a considerable amount of criticism after his comment on women in 2018. While addressing people in Guna at an event, Shakya urged women not to give birth to children who are not devoted, charitable, or brave, and should rather remain childless. In another offensive statement during the distribution of smartphones at Girl’s Degree College in Guna, Shakya said that crimes have been on the rise in the state because girls had boyfriends, and they must refrain from having a boyfriend.
