Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Russia for a two-day visit on Monday, July 8, and Tuesday, July 9 as Russian president Vladimir Putin invites him for the 22nd India-Russia summit. Narendra Modi paid a visit to Moscow for the first time since its war with Ukraine in February 2022, with his last visit being in September 2019 for the Eastern Economic Forum Meeting in Vladivostok. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin last visited India in December 2021 for an annual bilateral meeting.
Vladimir Putin To Host A Private Dinner For PM Modi
The bilateral meeting is expected to foster and expand the countries’ bilateral relations while emphasizing many sectors, such as trade, energy, and defense on the meeting on Tuesday. PM Modi in an official statement said that he is looking forward to sharing perspectives on various regional and global issues with friend Vladimir Putin. PM Modi is also set to interact with the Indian community in Russia, and will also be traveling to Kremlin the next day. According to insights issued from Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, the two leaders last met in September 2022 at the SCO summit in Uzbekistan, following which they have been in contact and have shared phone conversations. Reportedly, the Russian President is expected to host a private dinner in Moscow for Narendra Modi.

At the visit, Narendra Modi signed a cooperation pact between India’s Gujarat and Russian province, Astrakhan, along with holding talks about cooperation in petroleum, trade, education, tourism, science, and technology.
